After the Marine Science Center we headed back to the beach. This time we were more prepared. The kids were in their swimsuits & Andy had rented a standup paddleboard and was wearing his wetsuit. Unfortunately the weather was not as nice as the day before. The wind had picked up & the water felt much colder now. The kids were not as willing to roll in the waves and get soaking wet (although they did eventually manage to get covered in sand & surf by the end of the day).
Andy, undaunted by the wind, grabbed his paddleboard and headed into the surf. According to him he said it was pretty hard, but got easier if you didn't try to fight the wind. So as he was pushed 2 miles down the beach by the wind he perfected his craft. He could tell us whatever he wanted about his level of expertise, as after the first 20 minutes or so he was out of sight. However, during the first 20 minutes he appeared to spend much more time in the water than out of the water. ;)
