June's Quilt

So, almost two years after starting, I have finally finished June's big girl quilt.









Now she just needs a big girl bed!

So Much Energy

Yep. Totaled.

As expected, Andy's Ford Focus was totaled in the accident 2 weeks ago. Here is our new used car! The other guy's insurance company paid $3400 for our old car & gave us a rental for 2 weeks as well. We bought the 1999 Saab - 95 Wagon for $3300 off of Craigslist & after registration we actually came out ahead $20 on the whole thing. ;)

My Birthday Present from Cora

First social smiles right after we woke up! What a wonderful birthday present! A few smiles later in the afternoon were caught on camera. Here are some of the pictures of Cora on my birthday (at exactly 6 weeks old).



And she slept through the first 3 hours of our BBQ! What a good little girl!!

Nine+ Years Later

It only took me nine plus years to finally have my wedding dress cleaned, repaired & preserved. Thank you Mom & Dad for this birthday present!

One Month Comparison

Here are all of the kiddos at 1 month old. I think right now Cora looks like a cross between Lincoln & June. :) Cora has had the smallest weight gain of all of them, but then she is also my only exclusively breastfed baby. The other kids didn't really have to go through that large weight loss just after birth, and didn't have to work as hard as Cora does getting milk from the bottle. Still, she is doing wonderfully and I couldn't be happier with her temperament. It is looking like we have another super sweet baby on our hands (thank goodness)!

Pumpkin Patch 2012

Yesterday we ventured to Agua Linda Farm for our yearly pumpkin patch family outing. It started out well. Everyone was happy to be there & the weather was unseasonably cool at 80 degrees. We got there just as the ponies were getting a 2 hour break, so we had to be at the patch at least that long since we had promised June a pony ride (and this was one of the main reasons we came).

We goofed around on the haystack (a pyramid of hay bales) & petting yard (nasty little goats with horns and a chicken coop). We pet the nice donkeys & fed the hungry sheep. About 30 min - 1 hour into it, Lincoln decided he was DONE. And he cried & whined most of the rest of the time we were there. This is unfortunately pretty typical of many of our family outings. Lincoln gets hot & tired pretty easily. His only moment of happy time was on the tractor-drawn wagon ride to pick out pumpkins. Neither Roxy or Lincoln enjoyed walking in the pumpkin fields because they really couldn't navigate through the vines and even with guidance tripped a lot. Unfortunately, by the time we were back from the pumpkin picking, the pony rides were open again but the line was about 1 hr long. And because Lincoln was having a complete melt down at this point, and Roxy was getting pretty tired from her missed nap, we just skipped the pony rides. We figured by the time we actually got June on the pony, everyone would be having a meltdown at that point, including June.

Roxy's favorite thing was throwing/eating dirt. It made her happy, so we let her do it. I think the tractor ride was the biggest hit of the day for all of the kids. I feel bad about Juney missing out on the pony ride. I am certain that she wold have loved it. Maybe next year we will have better timing and try again.

New Car

Well, Cora is getting an unexpected present for her 1 month birthday...

Andy got in a car accident (not his fault) on the way home from work on Monday night. Thankfully no body was injured. However, his old hand-me-down 1998 Ford Escort is (most likely) totaled.

So we will probably be getting a new car very soon.
