Pool Gunite

This morning we arrived onsite around 10pm and they had already made quite a lot of progress putting gunite in the pool.

When we came back to the site around 3pm. They were well finished & had packed up & left what looked like hours before!

Can't wait to go swimming!!

Sharing

Lincoln decided he was going to have a seat in his chair even if it was already occupied. Roxy, for once, didn't seem to mind the company. :)

Paint

Last week was a slow week at the house as far as progress goes. All day Monday was spent prepping for painting the interior of the house. Tuesday & Wednesday was for painting primer, Thursday & Friday was for painting the interior paint color, and Monday & Tuesday of this week was for painting the interior doors. Today, all of the doors were hung up again in place, and they were working on painting the pocket doors. Hopefully another day or so and painting will be 100% complete.

Here is a picture of the paint samples we could choose from based on our original color swatch.

We picked the light gray one on the top left. Once it was painted on the walls it pretty much looks white. But next to a white interior door you can definitely see the subtle tan/gray color.

Anatomy Scan

Today we had a level II anatomy scan. The ultrasound tech looked the baby up & down, inside & out, and determined that she is as normal as anyone can tell at this point in pregnancy. So yay for great news! We get to do another ultrasound in 9 weeks to double check & make sure that she is still looking a-okay!

Here is our baby:

Here SHE is! Further proof that we have baby girl #3 on the way!

Here are her perfect little tootsies!

Here is her facial profile. Aww!

And finally here is a bonus 3D image of her face & hand. She refused to move her hand away from her face for this image. She really wanted to make sure we saw her giving us either a salute or a rude gesture. I guess we will have to wait until she is born to see which she might have meant. ;)

So excited to meet our newest baby girl this September!

Another Walker!

It is official! Roxy is a walker!! She has been working on it every evening (after June is in bed) for the past week and a half, but about three days ago decided to just take off! It must have clicked because she will now walk across rooms & over surface changes, and even outside! She still crawls a lot, and is much faster in that manner of locomotion, but she is so so proud of herself whenever she is walking across a room!

See for yourself!

Sleepy Bear

Lincoln is still the most adorable sleeper ever. He just appears to be begging for kisses & cuddles.

Two Year Height Estimates

Now that June has had her 2 year well-baby checkup we are able to predict her full adult height. Her height at 2 years old was 34.5", so her full adult height is predicted to be 5'5". So even though she is in the 70% at this point, maybe she really will be the shorty of the family?!

Lincoln was predicted to be 6'3" based on his 2 year old height of 37.5"! However, we have most likely stunted his growth by going onto the Ketogenic diet. Looking on the bright side...maybe he will be a nice 6'0" or something a little more physically manageable now. :)

Sing a Song

June has just recently started trying to sing along with songs that she hears. She actually first attempted it around Christmas with "Jingle Bells" while riding in the car, but was too shy if she knew I was listening. Now, she is no longer shy & will sing her songs anywhere & even do it when she knows we are watching & listening. Her current favorites are "The Birthday Song", in which she sings "Happy Birthday Roxy" over & over again. And "The Circle of Life", from the Lion King (she doesn't actually sing any of the words here, she just approximates the African chant in the beginning). It is SOOOOOO CUTE!! And I love encouraging her & watching her glow with happiness in our praise. :)

Here is June's version of "The Circle of Life":

She is so excited for the start of the movie!

So studious!

After playing at the water table all morning...a little close studying of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse was in order. ;)

It is funny, but I think her study of "Clubhouse" as she calls the show & all of the characters in it, has actually taught her something, or at least reinforced some of the things we have been talking about with her. She has known & recognized "star", "heart" & "flower" shapes for several months, but was having a difficult time picking up other shapes like "circle", "square", "triangle", and "diamond". Well, a couple of days ago she came up to me, handed me a shape & totally unprompted said "triangle". She was correct & I was surprised! :)

It turns out that she can correctly point to different shapes, but connecting the correct word to the object is what is tripping her up. She can also sometimes correctly identify colors if given several objects and asked to pick the "red" one. However, if we ask her to name the color of an object without any hints or guidance, it is almost always "green", even if the object is not even close to being green. I think that is just the color name that pops into her head first. Lincoln's speech therapist said that it is almost always green or blue that the kids will continuously name first. Interesting.

Regardless, she is absolutely adorable & seems to enjoy learning these new things. Sometimes she even tries to argue with me when I tell her the correct name of the shape or color, she tries to insist that she was right with her guess by repeating her word & getting angry when I repeat the correct word. Such a silly little girl. :)

On a side note; check out those curls in her picture! They look like they used to a year ago, when her hair was much shorter and still baby fine. I guess a combo of several re-wettings, sunshine & spray-on sunscreen. So adorable. I wish they were like that all of the time! :)

June's 2 Year Photo Shoot

We tried the professional place, but the lady there scared her so badly she wouldn't stop crying long enough to get any good pictures. I couldn't blame her either, she was quite loud & overwhelming! So I decided to do an amateur photo shoot here at home instead. :)

As always, June was being June, and had very little patience for holding still or looking & smiling at the camera. But that is okay. I think I got a couple of good ones! ;)

More Lincoln Artwork!!

Here are all of Lincoln's school arts & crafts from after winter break through spring break. I love these things, they are such treasures & I hate throwing them away, but I definitely can't save them all. It has only been part of his first year of school & we would be overflowing with his wonderful arts & crafts!!
