House Progress Over Christmas Weekend

The crew took the weekend off, as usual, so Andy & the kids & I took the opportunity to head up to the house and install Andy's front door. It looks great! And while we were there, the kids got to have the first ever meal in our new house. :)

Winterhaven

Our annual expedition to Winterhaven was a resounding success. We went Christmas night. The kids had a lot of fun. They enjoyed the lights and especially the mules pulling the wagons. June affectionately called the mules "nee nee" (this is what she calls horses because they say "neigh"), and she calls the Christmas lights "kirkam" (which is her word for Christmas). Roxy had fun and wiggled and babbled whenever we went by a very brightly lit house. Lincoln wiggled his little butt off, and gave Andy a workout trying to keep him safely on the wagon. He had a lot of fun being out and about. The kids were so wound up from the festivities that they didn't fall asleep until after 11pm!

All I want for Christmas...

is my two front teeth! This is apparently what Roxy asked Santa for, because that is what she got (among many toys & clothes as well). The other kids also got a ton of toys and clothes too! Check out the pictures & videos below.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!! I know we did! Thank you for all of the gifts and happy holiday wishes!!

More Framing Progress & Trusses!

So they have continued to make progress on the exterior framing last week. You can see that they have made a lot of progress on the front of the house, both the garage, entryway, master bathroom, and master bathroom are taking shape. And Andy installed his first handmade contribution to our new house -- the front door frame. It all looks awesome!

This first set of pictures was taken last week & over the past weekend.

Here is a video of the master bedroom wall going up! Andy is helping! :)

This week they have completed the exterior framing, begun sheeting the exterior walls, and have put up the majority of the trusses.

A video of the kids chasing around the house! They have so much fun running around in there, (Roxy is asleep in the car).

And some pictures of the past few days progress!!

The floor stain samples. We are choosing the browner of the two, for the purpose of hiding dirt & dusty foot prints better. Ironically that is just unstained but honed & sealed concrete.

I'll say it again, the kids love it here! Lincoln especially loves the open space to run!

Smiles On A Rainy Day

How do you have fun with rambunctious kids on a rainy day? Have a wrestling match! Lots of smiles, giggles, and squeals were had by all!

Look who can stand!

He is sitting on me, trying to steal the camera too.

Yes, he is pulling her hair, and loving it! (She is loving it too)

Yes, she is sitting on his head.

But he came up smiling!
