New Car

Well I am getting a little bit behind here. We got a new minivan about 1.5 weeks ago. I don't think I have mentioned it here yet. The 1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager has been in my family since it was purchased brand new the year I graduated high school. It has had a long service & has finally been put out to pasture.

We purchased a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan R/T to replace our old minivan. It has all of the bells & whistles, so it is super fun to drive. The kids LOVE the dvd player, so that should make our road trip to Oregon go a little bit smoother.

Hoping that this car lasts us a good 10 years or so. :)

Cora & June Cuteness

A true crawler now! She is really putting on the miles getting all over our big house!

Peek-a-boo with Cora. June started this game with Cora all on her own. They were both giggling their heads off at one point.

June insisted on holding Cora & rock-a-bye babying her (singing Rock-a-bye Baby).

7 Month Comparison

7 Months Old!

Cora is now 7 months old. She is getting all over the house quite efficiently now with a combination of regular and army crawling, depending on what clothes she is wearing. If her pants are slippery then she will army crawl so her knees don't slip. She spends a lot of time under our dining room table chewing on bits and pieces of things she finds under there. Who says we need a dog? ;)

She is also attempting to pull up on anything and everything she can get her hands on. Unfortunately for her, her hands and grip aren't quite strong enough to support her weight, so she slips and tumbles backward a lot. Fun times on our concrete floor. She also had a run in with the playroom swing about a week ago. That left a little bit of a mark on her forehead for a day or so. Poor baby. It is hard being the littlest in a group of rambunctious toddlers & preschoolers. But she is always game for more play. She follows her siblings everywhere & loves it when they pay attention to her. She ADORES them!

Cora is eating her solids very well. She doesn't love purees, but does loves spitting them all over me. She much prefers to feed herself anything she can (hence her forays under the dining room table. I have a feeling we will be quickly moving on to exclusive finger foods for Miss Cora.

She used to be quite the angel when out of the house. However, she recently, really dislikes being strapped into her car seat. She likes to be on the move or in mommy's arms. It doesn't take long for her to start squeaking if she isn't allowed to do what she wants. She also has a stranger aversion, we call it her "stranger danger". She cries whenever anyone stops to smile at her and tell her how pretty she is, or if anyone even looks at her too closely. It is kind of ridiculous, because then they feel awful for making the baby cry & start to apologize, which then leaves me trying to explain that they didn't do anything wrong, and that she is just going through a phase where she is scared of any other people, especially when mommy isn't holding her. Sigh. Cora is quickly becoming my most difficult child when out of the house.

Cora is really starting to show her spunk, and I think that she will be giving her sisters a run for their money very soon.

Well Checks Today

Today was June's 3 year old well-check. She weighs 28lbs (20%) and is 38 inches tall (68%). Apparently she weighed slightly less than she did a year ago. Hmm. She was 28lbs 2oz (65%) & 34.5in (70%). The doc wasn't too concerned as this is fairly common between 2 & 3 years. I remember my mom said the exact same thing happened to me when I was a baby. I guess she just takes after me... (as if it wasn't already obvious). ;)
Next up, June's 4 year old well-check & 2 shots.

We also did Roxy's 2 year old well-check today. She weights 26lbs 8oz (50%) and is 35 inches tall (90%). Roxy is quickly catching her big sister. At her 18mo appointment in October she weighed 24lbs 2oz & 33in. I wonder at what age she will be when she becomes physically larger than June? Roxy also had to get 1 vaccination today. She cried for only a few seconds & then was her happy smiley self again. She rocks! According the the estimates that you can use at age two to predict heights, Roxy will end up being 5' 10". June's estimate was 5'8" & Lincoln's was 6'3".
Next up, Roxy's 3 year old well-check & no shots!

We did a weight check on Cora, just for fun. She is now up to 15lbs 14oz. A nice gain from her 14lbs 7oz of last month. :)
Next up, Cora's 9mo well-check & no shots!

Roxy is Two!

It is hard to believe that just two years ago I was preparing to meet my second daughter. She was born via c-section because she was stubbornly breech. However, despite her stubbornness in utero, she has turned out to be the biggest sweetheart in the family. She is calm & quiet & likes to think things through before acting. Her personality is really starting to shine & she is still the angel that she was as a baby. I can only hope that she remains just as sweet as she enters the much dreaded terrible-twos. I know I could use a little break as June leaves age two & enters age three. ;)

Here is baby Roxy.

Look how much she has grown!

Happy Birthday Party!

Oh what a day!! We celebrated June turning three & Roxy turning two in a combined birthday BBQ on March 30th. It was a lot of fun. Mostly adults, but a few children came also. The turn out was lower than expected, possibly because it was Easter weekend. All that really mattered to June was that there were people, balloons & birthday cake!

The presents!

The cakes!

The birthday song!

And the eating...
