Almost 30 wk OB appt.

Everything looks good!! Unlike my past pregnancies that got to this point, my cervix has remained nice and long! It was 3.2cm, which over a cm longer than both June & Lincoln's pregnancies at 30 weeks! I have to say that I am thrilled to not be having this issue this time through. We will check it out again at 32 and 34 weeks, and then whatever happens happens.

Dr. B did a quick look around, and made some measurements. Roxy is head up, and her head is in the exact same place as June's was at this time last year. I am just hoping that she follows suit, and flips before delivery day! Roxy was measuring 29wks 4days on average (I am 29wks 5days today), and weighed in at 2lbs 8oz. She looked to have a big head and small body. I have a feeling that when she is born she will be another 6 lber. A skinny runt like June was. I am sure she will pack on the pounds & grow like a weed after birth though! ;)

Starting to Feel Overwhelmed

I am starting to feel overwhelmed.

I had Lincoln's dietician appt for the Ketogenic diet today, and administering the diet will be very very intensive. We are sceduled to start it within the next month.

Lincoln is also starting the EI school transition, so that is a bunch more appointments to deal with on top of his regular quarterly/yearly appointments with all of his specialists.

June is a sweetheart, but is into everything, and destroys the house on a daily basis. She is also waking up 1-2 times/night again. Not sure if it is teething or a growth spurt or what. The cuddle time is sweet, but the lack of sleep is a PITA.

Roxy will be showing up in about 2 months!! Then I will have to deal with attempting breastfeeding again, my mom visiting for 3 weeks, keeping June from killing Roxy or pestering Lincoln too much. Not to mention keeping Lincoln in ketosis. Plus all of the other stuff I have to do to get ready for Roxy's arrival...rearranging furniture, getting out the swing, washing her clothes/blankets, etc...

Sigh.

Long Overdue

I have been sadly lacking in belly pics with this pregnancy. With Lincoln I was spot on, every two weeks. With June things were a little looser, but I still got in a picture at least every month. Poor Roxy won't have all that many pictures to see documenting her mommy's pregnancy with her. Oh well, I am sure she won't really care. ;)

Big difference, huh?! :)

She seems to be growing well (if my belly and her kicks are any indication), but I will have an OB appointment on the 31st to check on things. There will be a quicky ultrasound to make sure my cervix is holding strong, and we will also get a glimpse of her position. Hopefully, she will be a good girl and be head down already (and stay that way). But, based on my history, I am not counting on it. Lol.

After the 31st we will go to appointments every 2 weeks for a month or so, and then every week after that until she arrives. Things are speeding up, and I still cannot believe that I will have another newborn little girl in the house for the second spring in a row! It will be stressful, amazing, busy, and wonderful...all at once!

It is over!

The horrible week that is! We got released from the hospital yesterday, and when we got home Lincoln could not have been cuter! He grinned and ran around the house all afternoon! He was so excited to be home. Plus, he ate more food than I have ever seen him eat, every single meal!! I couldn't believe it!

Today we had to go back to do an outpatient MRI. None of us were thrilled to be back at the hospital. I felt really bad dragging Lincoln back there for another procedure & sedation. But like always, he was a champ, and took it all very well. He cried and whined a bit coming out of sedation, but otherwise, once we got home he ate really well & is now running around like nothing happened. What a big brave boy he is!

In Honor Of...

I am sitting here in the hospital at 5am. I am watching Lincoln sleep, as I have been for the past 5 hours. In case he has a seizure during the night, I have to stay awake all night long so that I can press a little button, which will then put a mark on the EEG tape for the neuro to easily find. I am very tired, but Lincoln is doing great...he is our little trooper!

In my spare time I am working on changing the blog again. In honor of the spring-like weather already visiting Tucson (hello 80 degrees!), I decided to ditch the snowflake theme so shortly after implementing it. I did love the snowflakes, but it just seemed so silly updating our blog wearing shorts...

Hope you enjoy it! It seemed a little feminine, but then I was thinking what better way to celebrate my two spring daughters, than with two spring flowers?! :)

Sledding

We went sledding a couple of times while we were in Baker City. There were several days where it was just too cold, like below zero for most, if not the entire the day. But for those two days we managed to bundle the kids up in borrowed snow clothing and head outdoors for as many minutes as the kids could stand. There was a sledding hill up against the potato cellars...the kids weren't sure what to think about going that fast. The did seem to enjoy going fast on the flat ground though. Lincoln actually did so well with his balance that Andy was able to get him to spin a couple of cookies while we walked. June kicked her feet and squealed like she usually does when she is excited. It was a good time, but they both got cold pretty fast, especially because they wouldn't keep their gloves on, and they didn't have any snow boots. So we kept it short and sweet & earned several smiles and laughs from both of them. :)

Baker City

We headed to Baker City the day after Christmas. My family gave us a ride to Hood River, and then Andy's sister Sarah picked us up. We got to Baker City in time for a late dinner. The roads we good on the way there, but the weather got much worse the following days. It snowed several inches the first days we were there, then had high winds after that, and then we had several days of frigid below zero weather.

We had a second Christmas the night that we arrived to the Blatchford house. It was great! A lot more toys, trinkets, gift cards and clothes to be had by everyone! We spent the next day hanging out & did some sledding. The day after that Andy had to leave to head to Chris' funeral in Mesquite, NV. He said the funeral was very well done. When Andy returned he had a nice day of skiing and we also headed into town to visit Grandma Ruth Blatchford. She seemed to be holding her own, and in fairly good spirits, after the death of her husband in late November. She also really seemed to enjoy meeting June for the first time & visiting with Lincoln again. Despite her good spirits, her body is old and giving up, so we don't really expect to see her again (on this side of the veil anyway). It was hard saying goodbye this time, knowing that it will likely be our last. We did get a picture of her with both kids though (see below), so that will be something nice to keep for the scrapbooks.

We spent several more days hanging out & enjoying the comforts of home & company of family. We did some more sledding & then finally headed for home on Jan. 4th. It was a lot of fun to spend so much time with family, but it was also nice to be back home. :)

No longer a secret

Well, like I mentioned in a previous post, our level II u/s tech gave us many unintentional looks at baby #3's gender. We left there 90% sure we knew who our next baby was going to be. After thinking we knew, but not having confirmation haunted us for many days, we went ahead and got confirmation via the genetic test results. It turns out we right!

We decided to surprise my family on Christmas day by hanging a personalized stocking for baby #3 along with Lincoln's & June's. Unfortunately, I failed to get a picture of this exact spectacle. But, I was pleased to see everyone's surprised reactions to the news that Lincoln & June are going to have a baby sister. Everyone but my dad and Andy thought that baby #3 was going to be a boy, including me. Yay, for baby girls! :)



Her name will be Rosalyn, with a nickname of Roxy. :)

Christmas Day

Christmas was great fun! My Dad and I are Santa Clauses at heart, so we love giving presents & cannot stop buying when it comes time for the holidays. We shopped together for several days leading up to Christmas, and overspent on every single person, except ourselves of course. But everyone loved their gifts, and if they didn't they were too polite to say so. Hehe.

Grandma came down from Portland, and we started opening presents round robin style after breakfast. Again Lincoln slept through the first part of it due to a seizure, but this was not unexpected as he typically has a morning seizure during breakfast or just after waking. After his nap he was right there in the thick of things along with June. They enjoyed the wrapping paper, bows, boxes, and presents...in that order. Lol! Both Lincoln & June were getting the idea of ripping the paper, so that was fun. They also both liked to eat the paper too...so that kept mommy pretty busy. ;)

We got lots of good stuff. Video games and tools for Andy, gift cards, shirts & socks for me, and toys galore (and some clothes) for the kiddos! It was a good day with family & food & lots of fun!













































Also, you may notice in several pictures that June now has a tooth! I was surprised to see her first tooth was a top tooth! This is pretty unusual. Typically the first two teeth are the bottom middle teeth. It arrived on 12/16/10, and she is currently working on another couple of top teeth...the bottom ones are still no where in sight. Lol.

Zoo Lights

We headed to the zoo in Portland on Dec. 23rd. It was cold, but not nearly as cold as last year. Brr! With everyone bundled up we arrived at 3pm. We spent several hours looking at the animals. It sprinkled on us a little bit, but nothing too bad. We had some great & close encounters with the Jaguar, Lion, and Baboon. Most of the rest of the animals were hiding, or indoors, where the adults in our party could spot them, but little eyes could not see or distinguish the animals from their surroundings. The kids particularly loved the Jaguar, and in the picture below you can even see Lincoln's little hands reaching out to pet the kitty. ;)

Once it got dark we headed for the Zoo Lights Train, and waited about 45min to board. Unfortunately, Lincoln had a seizure minutes before it was our turn & fell asleep, so he ended up sleeping the entire train ride. Oh well. It happens. June enjoyed the ride, despite being exhausted from the long cold napless day. It was a lot of fun & everyone had a good time. Once we left, she was fast asleep in the car before we even got out of the parking lot. Lol!
