Our Exciting House Visit Today

First some updates...

The tile is being done in the bathrooms.

Here is the guest bathroom walls being tiled in black slate.

And guest bathroom floor.

Here is Lincoln's bathroom being done in Indian Autumn slate.

And the plaster texturing on the walls is almost completed!

And the yard is finally getting some attention! Here is the 4 foot retaining wall being built! The pool will get started next week!

Now for the excitement...

As I was standing in the entryway talking to the builder, this little guy walked past the garage entry door to the house. Looking like he was gonna wander in, until he saw us standing there. There was much excitement all around as these Gila Monsters are poisonous and have a vicious bite, but they are slow moving (especially the big ones) & non-aggressive unless threatened. Typically they are quite shy & like to come out in the evening, so to see this fellow in our house mid-morning was quite a surprise.

You can hear Junie practicing her new word for the day. "Lizard"! :)

Affection

It was entirely June's idea to climb up on the couch and snuggle up with Lincoln while watching a movie. I think it is absolutely adorable & just goes to show how sibling affection & companionship start at such an early age. Love it!!

Baby Checkup

Today I had my 15 week OB appointment. After searching for the baby's heartbeat for a couple of minutes without success my doctor got out the ultrasound machine. I wasn't too nervous because I found the heartbeat at home with Andy last night, and the doctor even said she thought she could hear her moving around in there...just was not able to pick up the heartbeat.

Our little girl was just being difficult. We saw the heart flickering away once we took a look with the ultrasound machine. I think we have another busy one in there.

Here is her 15 week little body! (Head on the left, butt on the right)

Final Concrete

The final concrete we are pouring (prior to our move) is in the mold! This is for our master bathtub deck & master shower bench.

At the end of all of these counter top pours, we used a grand total of 60 bags (and change), or approximately 4800lbs of concrete! Wow!

Estimates put us at next week for painting the interior. Then it is on to fixture trim & installation!

Longest Phrase Yet!

Leave it to balloons & presents & a cake to encourage June to speak her longest & most understandable phrase to date. "Happy Birthday!"

The Celebration

The night before...cake is decorated & presents are wrapped!

Daddy brings balloons home!! These were a huge HUGE hit!!!

Cake time! Yummy yummy!

And presents too!! She was all about tearing that wrapping paper! ;) And Roxy was ready to offer her services to help.

Then later that afternoon we went to a good friend's 30th birthday party. She knew it was June's birthday also and was sweet enough to get June a giant cupcake & present too!

June is Two!

A lot has happened over the last two years, and yet it seems like just yesterday that I was meeting my little girl for the first time.

But on the other hand, it feels like she has always been a part of our family as well.

When people ask what she is like, I have always described her as "busy", right from the start.

But she is SO much more than that.

Stubborn.

Curious.

Silly.

A sometimes sweet,

And sometimes naughty toddler.

But beautiful from head to toe!

Sometimes she trys so so hard to be helpful & do what she thinks we want her to do, but then sometimes she does just the opposite to test us.

She is alternately a real joy that can make my heart sing, and a real brat who can give me an instant headache.

All of these traits combine to make our little June bug.

My dad called her a gem when she was a baby & I agree 100%.

I know as she gets older she will become even more amazing.

A great helper and a sweet sister both.

We love her so much & wouldn't change a single thing about her.

Our little spitfire. :)
