Roxy's 2011 "D-A-D" Photo Outtakes

Roxy is by far my best behaved baby. Both for getting pictures taken, and in just about every other way as well. She is just so patient, so smilely, and a great little girl all around. I only had to do one short photo session with Roxy (while June screamed about being left out and trapped in her highchair as our background noise) with only 18 pictures taken. The winner was number #17. It would have been quicker, but it took me awhile to get Roxy in the best non-slumped position and get her bow in a place that made me happy. Otherwise I probably could have done it in about 5 pictures...that is how sweet our little Roxy is. :)

Outtakes...

Lincoln's 2011 "D-A-D" Photo Ottakes

Surprisingly, after years of working with a very cooperative little boy, Lincoln has suddenly decided that smiling while looking at the camera is only for babies. He is now fully a rambunctious toddler with a mind of his own. Tis makes capturing a the perfect photo much more difficult than it used to be! Luckily, we were able to capture the winning photo on the first day. I took 54 photos of Lincoln during this 5-10 min period, and the winning photo was taken about halfway through.

Again, it was very difficult to capture non-blurry, smiling pictures of my two eldest kids. Here are some of Lincoln's outtakes.

June's 2011 "D-A-D" Picture Outtakes

Junebug was a little nightmare when it came to getting a passable photo of her to frame and give to Andy to take to work. She cannot for the life of her do all of these things; hold still, look at the camera, smile, leave the bow in her hair alone, and hold (or sit next to) the letter "A". We ended up settling on a picture where she was not smiling or looking at the camera.

It was one of the few photos of her when not a single body part of hers was blurred due to motion, and the letter "A" was still in the frame. It took 3 seperate days of photographing her over a two week period, at a maximum of 3 minutes during each attempt, and a total of 42 pictures. I did get a couple of pictures that met all of the requirements except they were just too blurry (once enlarged to a 5x7 size) to frame. Oh well. Maybe I will have more luck next year with her.

School Placement

It is official, Lincoln is going to be a Meyer's Mustang!
http://edweb.tusd.k12.az.us/myersganoung/

Honestly, I am a little dissapointed in this placement, because the school itself is not in a great neighborhood and doesn't have a good report card. However, the therapists who did Lincoln's evaluation assure me that this program will be the best for him because he will be with a smaller group of kids so he will get more individualized attention. Plus, there are less stairs and ramps for him to negotiate, and there is a therapy room with a swing and exercise balls (which he loves). So, I am trying to tell myself that even though the neighborhood isn't great, and the school doesn't rank very high...this is just a special needs preschool which doesn't really factor in the the ratings & rankings, and the kids will be well protected in this environment. Additionally, I will be meeting with the teacher in early August, and visiting the class several times after Lincoln starts school, and sending my personal spy (service coordinator) to observe as well. Hopefully the evaluators are right, and this is a good fit. If not, we will be trying to get him into a different programs asap.
