Happy Easter!

This is the kids' first Easter that we decided to celebrate. We got Easter baskets & candy & toys for them. We decided to skip out on the candy trails & the egg dying this year though.

Then at 10am we went to a friends house & did an Easter egg hunt & brunch. It was a lot of fun. All of the kids were super polite & shared their eggs. It was a young bunch, so they lost interest in looking after about 5 minutes. June was the only one to participate from our group. Roxy, Lincoln & I were content to rock on the rocking swing & enjoys some cool drinks. It was a beautiful morning & a lot of fun spending the time with friends. :)

This was June's first ever egg hunt, so to be nice, Erik (the dad of the little boy in the picture) suggested that Andrew (the little boy) give June one easter egg. Well, once he finally got it in her basket (she kept moving away from him as he tried to give it to her), he was so proud of himself that throughout the hunt he continued to give her all of his eggs. So, by the end, June had all of her own eggs (maybe 8-10 that she found on her own), and also all of Andrew's eggs as well! So probably had 25 eggs total! Of course, we gave him back his eggs at the end. :)

Cake & More

Roxy' birthday celebration was quite a bit more tame than June's was. Mostly because it was mid-week & Roxy could care very little about it all.

Actually, I think June was much more excited about it being Roxy's birthday than even Roxy was. While we were out and about during the afternoon, June was telling people that it was "Birthday" and then "Roxy" while pointing at Roxy. So cute! I do think that Roxy enjoyed the fuss that everyone made about it though. :)

Then we did some walking practice...this is by far the most she has done yet! We are so proud of her!!

Pedi Appointment Update

June's 2 Year Stats:
Height = 34.5in (70%)
Weight = 28lbs 2oz (65%)

She gained 4lbs & 2in in the last 6 months. Doctor said that this was a good gain on her curve. I believe she was 50% all around at her 18mo appointment.

June got 1 shot today. She was pretty upset whenever the doctor or nurse touched her for any purpose, but actually handled the shot at the very end of the appointment pretty well. I think the sucker contributed to her good behavior.

Roxy's 1 Year Stats:
Height = 31.5in (95%)
Weight = 21lbs (70%)

She gained 1lb & 1.5in in the last 3 months. Doctor said this slow down in weight gain is pretty typical for this age. He said she is long & lean! She has slowed significantly in weight & height gain. She was off of the charts since her 4mo well-baby check up. So at least she is back on the charts in the stat.

Roxy did pretty well for the check up & nurse vitals. She didn't really get upset until the ear check. She had her anemia & lead levels checked by a finger stick early in the appointment & it was pretty much downhill from there. She would not stop crying unless I held her. But I couldn't just hold her because both Lincoln & June needed my attention as well. So they all did a little crying while waiting for the doctor to come in & then again while waiting for the nurse to come back with the shots. Roxy, usually my sweetest, and least likely to cry baby, was an absolute wreck during & after her 4 shots. She refused to be consoled (even with suckers) until we had traveled a least 10 minutes away from the pedi's office. Poor baby.

Happy 1st Birthday Roxy!

Happy birthday to my sweet Roxy! Now that she is graduating into toddler territory, and all the exciting changes that come with that. I will remember fondly what a sweet angel she was throughout her first year.
