A Love Affair

Roxy has a love affair with her mobile. Neither Lincoln or June cared one way or the other about this mobile, but Roxy adores it! She watches it, talks to it, and gives it the biggest smiles. Just goes to show us how everybody is so different right from the start.

The Before

Now that we have our loan approved, and are nearing the start of construction I wanted to take some before pictures of our lot before any equipment or clearing of the land begins.

The Before:

Looking Northwest

Looking West

Looking North

Looking Northeast

Looking Southwest

I am hoping to be able to chronicle the construction of our house using photographs throughout the process of building. At this point we are finishing up the detailed design of the house, then we will be able to submit to the county for permits. After the permits are issued, then we will be able to break ground. This will probably make it August or even September before actually starting the construction.

Two Months!

Can you believe it? Roxy is two months old (tomorrow)! She is doing great. She has been social smiling for a month now, and has made a few little coos here and there. She is sleeping sooo much better than she was (4-5 hour stretches now)! She also spends quite a bit more time awake during the day than she used to. While awake she hangs out in her swing watching the mobile, on her playmat doing tummy-time, or cuddling on my lap or looking over my shoulder. Her favorite place is, of course, with me still. :)

She requires a bit of a special touch when eating and burping, which really frustrates Andy. She chokes and gags pretty often on the bottle, and if not burped properly, will projectile vomit everything in her tummy (she does this at least once a week). Otherwise, she is a very easy and laid back baby, and I really enjoy the one-on-one time I get to spend with her when it comes. :)

Roxy weighed in at 12lbs 13oz. It is funny, because Lincoln was 13lbs 13oz when he was 2 months, and June was around 11lbs 13oz. Each one pound different exactly. Roxy is a chunk of a baby, but not quite flying up the growth charts like Lincoln or June did.

Here are all three kids' 2 month pictures. My cutie pies! :)

I think Roxy really bridges the gap between Lincoln's and June's features. And looks a bit like both of them!

Too Grown Up

There is something about a baby's unkempt hair that makes them look so young. Well, June will no longer be pestered by food in her bangs or mommy forcing bows into her hair (which always lasted about 10 seconds before being ripped out by curious little fingers). She has recieved her first hair cut today. I just could not stand all that hair hanging in her eyes anymore! But now that I look at her, I wonder if I made a mistake. Sure this is a very practical solution, and those pesky locks will drive neither of us nuts anymore. But it appears with a couple of snips of the sissors, that my baby June has been transformed into a little girl. Tear.

Brother & Baby Sister

A quick photoshoot with Lincoln & his littlest sister this morning. Lincoln was underwhelmed, but a good sport. Roxy smiled up at Lincoln the whole time, she loved it!
