Well, the MRI wasn't really the adventure, being that this was his 5th MRI in the past year, it was actually pretty "old hat"...although I am sure that Lincoln would not agree. However, the trip getting to Phoenix was the actual adventure. We had dead car batteries, traffic, a broken hotel computer systems, then more traffic, and getting a bit lost in the hospital complex. All in all, we survived, made it to the MRI, only 15 min late or so. Lincoln went under fine, had his 1 hour long MRI, then when he came out of sedation he was letting everyone in the back rooms know that he was not enjoying his time at St. Joseph's hosptial any longer! After feeding him some glucose water solution to settle his tummy, we took off and headed home. Despite all predictions Lincoln remained awake both to and from Phoenix. I guess our little sleepy head is finally waking up. We stopped halfway and got Lincoln some ice cream as a little treat. I think he experienced his first "brain freeze" because he was trying to eat it so fast. It gave him a bit of a pause, but, it certainly didn't put him off of eating the ice cream!
Because he liked ice cream so much, we used to add his Topamax to a dish after dinner. He only put up with that for about a week before he started refusing the ice cream! Ah! The power of bad tasting meds. I was worried that we had ruined ice cream forever. But apparently, his love affair for the frozen treat continues...
Some pics from when he was 7mo, enjoying his first ice cream cone:
