The Rundown

Here is a quick rundown on some of the events over the past 2 months.

June 8th/9th: We moved into our new house.

June 14: Andy's 33rd birthday & Andy's family came into town to help us get settled. We put them to work over the weekend installing our artificial turf in the backyard. They also helped finish moving large items from our old house to the new one.

June 20: We hired a cleaning team to clean our new house. We were not impressed with the job once completed, so we spent the next week or so cleaning it ourselves. :(

June 25th: After missing Lincoln's scheduled neuro appointment on June 13th because my van wouldn't start, then arriving for the supposedly rescheduled appointment on June 21st to find out that we were not actually on the books anywhere for that day or any following days, we finally got in to see the doctor. Dr. T wanted Lincoln to have a MRI since he hasn't had one since Jan 2011. And I requested that we take a look at his kidneys as well to see how the Ketogenic diet is effecting them. All of this stuff is scheduled for July 25th. Not looking forward to it, but it needs to be done.

June 26: We had a follow up ultrasound to check on baby Cora. She was still looking perfect & she was head down (never happened before 35wks with any of my other babies)!

June 28: Listed our old house for rent on Craigslist. Andy had three calls within the first few hours of posting. We had two showings over the next two days & had it rented out by the third day! Three young military men are now living in our old house. :)

Also on June 28th we had a aud-com evaluation done for Lincoln to figure out which assistive device might help him learn to communicate more easily. The eval team decided that we will be getting an Ipad. It should arrive sometime in the next 4 months or so, after going through all of the insurance hurdles & paperwork.

July 2nd: 29 week OB appointment & glucose tolerance test. Everything went just fine.

July 4th: Enjoyed the fireworks all over town from our new backyard. Pretty cool that we can see so much from up there. :)

July 7th: Had our house-warming party! It was fun to show off our new house to all of our friends. Most of them hadn't seen anything prior, so they were very surprised! :)

July 10th: We had Roxy's 15 month pedi appointment. She is 23lbs 3oz (65%) & 33 inches tall (99%). She was pretty cranky, so she cried most of the appointment. She got 3 shots & of course cried even harder. But both her & June got a sucker, so that helped. I asked the pedi about whether we should be worried about Roxy's lack of words. She really only has a couple & it takes some effort to get her to use them. Mostly she just babbles and screams. He said not to worry about it until 18 months, then we will reevaluate.

July 16th: 31 week OB appointment. Went well again. :)

July 17th: After killing several spiders, centipedes, scorpions & other assorted bugs in our house, we decided to hire some professional bug killers. Truly Nolen came out & thoroughly sprayed the exterior of the house, doorways & windows. That, plus having the builders come back & work on improving the seals around the thresholds & weather stripping on the doors, there is now much less bug traffic through the house. We still have a few yucky bugs come through on a weekly basis, but at least when the lights go out at night, the floors don't start moving anymore.

July 19th: Lincoln's 4th birthday & our 9th anniversary!! We didn't do much to celebrate. Andy bought me some flowers & I bought a birthday cake for Lincoln (which he can't eat, so the girls & I are enjoying it.) Andy also installed Lincoln's therapy swing over the weekend, so all of the kids seem to be loving that!

July 20th: Due to poor planning on my part, we were back at the pedi again not even 2 weeks after Roxy's appointment for Lincoln's 4 year well-child check up. Lincoln was 41 inches (80%) & 38lbs 8oz (67%). While on the diet he has continued to gain weight slowly, but has pretty much stopped growing. At his 3 yr appointment he actually measured 41.5in, but the pedi says it is very unlikely that he actually shrunk at all, most likely one of the measurements was off a little, but it does indicate that he is not growing in height. This was an expected, but unfortunate, side effect of the Ketogenic diet. He got 3 shots (in his arms!). Poor Lincoln cried so hard so quickly that he gave himself a bloody nose. :( Fortunately, the pedi says that these are the last shots until he turns 11 years old! He had a horrible localized reaction to one of the shots, his whole shoulder turned red/white & was hot to the touch. It didn't seem to bother him at all, but it looked awful. Even now, almost 5 days later, it is still somewhat red.


COMING UP

Tomorrow Andy is staying home with the girls while I take Lincoln to his early morning appointments. Renal ultrasound at 730, MRI at 900. He is fasting from midnight tonight until after the appointments.

Next week Andy will be out of town the entire week, so that will be super duper fun. ;)

Friday of next week we have a formal work dinner to attend, so we are hopefully getting some friends to come over & babysit for us. Any kind of formal event at 34 weeks pregnant is just hilarious. I tried on a dress, and while it fits, it looks like a tent. Oh well. I think everyone will understand. ;)
